The Daughters of Charity

The Daughters of Charity, who were founded by Saint Vincent de Paul and Ludovica de Marillac, arrived on Grad in 1960. They are devoted to serving the sick and poor.

At the beginning, there were only two sisters on Mirenski Grad, because the Mission Building was burnt down and dilapidated. After the renovation works had been completed, it housed 65 sisters.

Today the building is owned by the Lazarists and is used for the programmes of the St. Vincent de Paul Volunteer Association. The sisters' community lives in a new house next to it. This house is meant especially for old and disabled sisters, who take care of the church and pray for the poor and for all those who ask them for help.
